Students who enter the program without undergraduate degrees in the field may have a slightly different course load, depending on how many remaining prerequisite classes they need to take. Most, however, will also graduate at the end of the second spring semester. All students in the M. Practicum sites include the Indiana University clinics, as well as off-campus sites in and around Bloomington, including Indianapolis.
In addition to clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of childhood and adult communication disorders, the practicum includes a weekly seminar in which important clinical issues are presented and discussed.

If not taken prior to matriculation, the remaining two courses would have to be taken as an addition to the regular graduate coursework. Non-majors who have been admitted into the program may complete some of the prerequisite courses in the summer prior to matriculating in the fall semester of a given year at Indiana University. Note that the number of courses offered each summer at IU varies from one year to the next. You can also fulfill these requirements with coursework at another institution, including through online distance education.
